Therapy
Life doesn’t always feel sustainable - whether it be the way things feel, our way of understanding, or how things are going, sometimes it feels that something has to give. People have different needs, points of strain and visions of a life worth living, so your solutions are unique to you. Therapeutic relationships are an important way of understanding our challenges, and give us the opportunity to build alliances against the forces that injure or constrain us. I will always be in your corner to help understand the unique challenges you face, and to help you build a more meaningfully sustainable life.
Therapy is a 1-hour session, either weekly, or once every two weeks. My therapy practice is through Veduta Consulting in downtown Chicago; you can find pictures and more information on my Psychology Today profile.

There are a variety of modalities in this work, but many clinicians can reduce the person to the theory, rather than the reverse. I believe in being integrative & flexible to best understand your unique person and challenges. I use a relational approach that is affirming, contextual, non-pathological and future-focused. I’ve also developed a model over twenty years that is uniquely suited to understanding your individual differences, strengths and challenges. My work is evidence-based, while being uniquely empowering, optimistic and de-pathologizing through a innovative and proprietary blend of theory and practice.

My research has focused on understanding how people live dynamic lives that can feel more or less mentally and emotionally sustainable for a variety of reasons. I use a deep understanding of how this applies to different aspects of life to affirm that you are not deficient or flawed, but predictably reacting to difficult circumstances. By removing stigma and co-constructing a productive understanding of the issues, we build a positive relationship around supporting the difficult process of change toward a more meaningful and sustainable life.
